MOVE IN MARCH IS HERE

March is the perfect month to shake off the winter blues and embrace movement for better health and wellbeing. As the days grow longer and temperatures start to rise, it’s a great opportunity to step outside, get active, and build healthy habits.  Whether you’re looking to improve fitness, reduce stress, or just add more movement to your daily routine here’s how you can MOVE in March.

MOVE in March

This is an annual campaign aimed at encouraging everyone to get active during the whole of march…..and hopefully beyond. It’s aim is to help you incorporate physical activity into your daily life and help you find activities that you enjoy to reap all the benefits physical activity has to offer.  It is also to support International Women’s Day on 8th March and University Mental Health Day on 13th March.

We will be dropping into some of our MOVE sessions to give away goodie bags, and there will be a couple of prize giveaways during the month.

University Mental Health Day – 13th March

#UniMentalHealthDay is an annual day to get the nation talking about student mental health and working together to make mental health a university-wide priority.

Physical activity plays a crucial role in supporting mental wellbeing.  It isn’t just about fitness - it’s a powerful tool for managing stress, improving mood and sleep, and boosting overall mental health.

The UWE Bristol Sport MOVE programme has over 100 activities a week including yoga, dance classes, badminton, climbing, aerial hoop as well as more specific activities such as menostrength, yoga for office workers, BROGA and chair yoga.

Anyone who attends a MOVE session on Thursday 13th March will be in for the chance of winning a prize! UWE MOVE — UWE Bristol Sport

International Women’s Day – 8th March

The International Women’s Day theme for 2025 is #AccelerateAction for gender equality. On Saturday 8th March, MOVE is celebrating the power of women moving together by hosting a Women’s #MOVEtogether takeover on the astro facility. #MOVEtogether #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction

Activities will include women only sessions of:

  • Football

  • Netball

  • Tennis

  • Basketball

  • Beach Volleyball

 The activities will be 1 hour slots repeated from 11:00-14:00, bookable through MOVE and participants of the sessions will automatically be added to a prize giveaway!

MOVEment isn’t just for March, use this month as a chance to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine and make it a lifestyle change and habit you want to continue.
